Magnetic Card Holders FAQs
A 35pt holder. It fits one standard-size card (2.5" × 3.5", about 63 × 88 mm) in a penny sleeve or inner sleeve, which covers Pokémon, MTG, Lorcana, One Piece and most sports cards. Thick patch or relic cards need a higher pt rating, which we do not sell.
Yes. Put the card in a penny sleeve or a precise-fit inner sleeve before you close the case. The sleeve keeps the card surface off the plastic and makes it easier to take out later.
No. These holders take one sleeved raw card only. A graded slab or a card already in a toploader is too thick and can stop the magnet closing properly.
No. Graders such as PSA ask for cards in a semi-rigid card saver, which is easier to open safely. Check the grader's current packing rules before you send an order.
Clear polypropylene (PP), non-PVC, with UV protection to help keep card colors from fading on display. The two halves close with a magnetic seal.
They do different jobs. A magnetic holder is best for showing off a card on a desk or shelf. A toploader is cheaper per card and better for storage, trades and shipping. Many collectors use both.
Each pack has 5 holders for $8.99. If you need more than 100, contact us about larger quantities.
Magnetic holder size guide & FAQ
TCG Protectors magnetic card holders are two-piece, one-touch style cases that snap shut with a magnetic closure. Each holder is made from clear polypropylene (non-PVC) with UV protection, is rated 35pt, and fits one standard-size card (2.5 × 3.5 in, about 63 × 88 mm) in a penny sleeve or inner sleeve. That covers Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Lorcana, One Piece and most sports cards. Our 35pt magnetic card holders come in packs of 5 for $8.99.
A magnetic holder is made for display: on a desk, a shelf or a show table, where you want to see the front and back of a card without handling it. For loading tips and care, see our guide on how to use magnetic card holders.
Magnetic card holder size
| Holder | Rating | Fits | Material | Closure | Pack |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 35PT Magnetic Card Holder | 35pt | One standard card (2.5" × 3.5") in a penny or inner sleeve | Clear polypropylene (PP), non-PVC, UV protection | Magnetic, two-piece | 5 |
35pt is the thickness of a normal trading card. Thick patch, relic or memorabilia cards need a higher pt rating, and we do not sell one at the moment. Graded slabs and loaded toploaders do not fit.
How to load a magnetic card holder
- Sleeve the card. Use a penny sleeve or a precise-fit inner sleeve from our card sleeves range.
- Open the case flat. Lay the back half on a clean surface and place the sleeved card in the recess.
- Close it gently. Line up the front half and let the magnet pull it shut. Don't press on the card area.
- Nothing extra inside. Do not put a toploader or a second holder in the case.
