The Pokémon 151 UPC (the Scarlet & Violet—151 Ultra-Premium Collection) is a premium box that launched on October 6, 2023 at $119.99. It contains 16 151 booster packs, three Mew and Mewtwo promo cards (including an etched metal Mew ex), a Mew playmat, a deck box, a coin, dice and a Pokémon TCG Live code card. It has not had an announced reprint, and as of October 2026 sealed copies sell for several times the original price.

This guide covers the official contents, pack odds, release and price history, whether to keep it sealed or open it, how to spot a resealed box and how to store one. Contents are checked against the official Pokémon product page. Comparing boxes? Our Mega Charizard X ex Ultra Premium Collection guide covers a newer UPC from November 2025 that launched at the same $119.99 price, with 18 booster packs from mixed sets and two foil promos.

Quick Summary

Contents: 16 151 booster packs, 3 promos (etched foil Mew ex, full-art foil Mewtwo, etched metal Mew ex), playmat, deck box, coin, 6 dice, 2 condition markers, code card. No sleeves.

Release and MSRP: October 6, 2023 in the US, at $119.99.

Reprints: No dedicated 151 UPC reprint has been announced. The Pokémon Center lists it as out of stock.

Standard play: The 151 cards (G regulation mark) left Standard on April 10, 2026.

Storage: Keep the box cool, dry and out of sunlight. Sleeve the promos and keep the two paper promos in 35pt holders.

1. What is the Pokémon 151 UPC?

Short answer: “UPC” stands for Ultra-Premium Collection, Pokémon’s top-tier box format. The 151 UPC is the flagship box for Scarlet & Violet—151, a special expansion built around the original 151 Pokémon from the Kanto region. Because 151 had no standard booster box, the UPC became the biggest official product for the set.

In the Pokémon TCG, “UPC” is shorthand for an Ultra-Premium Collection, not the barcode. These boxes pair a stack of booster packs with exclusive promo cards and play accessories, and usually cost more than an Elite Trainer Box. The 151 UPC’s promos use the set’s rarity styles: a Special Illustration Rare–style Mew ex and an Illustration Rare–style Mewtwo, per Pokémon’s launch press release. Our Pokémon card anatomy and rarity guide explains what those rarity labels mean.

2. What’s inside the 151 UPC?

Short answer: 16 Scarlet & Violet—151 booster packs, three promo cards and a set of Mew-themed accessories. The official Pokémon product page lists every item below. One common mix-up: the 151 UPC does not include card sleeves, unlike some other premium boxes.

The three 151 UPC promo cards: Special Illustration Rare–style Mew ex, Illustration Rare–style Mewtwo and the gold metal Mew ex

The two paper promos were held back from the main set and released only through this box, which is a big part of why the UPC stays in demand. The metal Mew ex is a heavy display piece rather than a deck card, following the metal Charizard and Pikachu cards from the Celebrations UPC.

3. How many packs are in the 151 UPC, and what are the odds?

Short answer: 16 packs, all 151. Based on TCGplayer’s 151 pull-rate data, a Special Illustration Rare appears in about 1 in 32 packs, so a 16-pack box has roughly a 40% chance of at least one. The chance of one specific SIR, such as Charizard ex, is only about 7% per box.

151 pull odds per box (16 packs)
Pull Rate per pack (TCGplayer) Chance in one 151 UPC*
Any Special Illustration Rare About 1 in 32 About 40%
One specific SIR (e.g. Charizard ex 199/165) About 1 in 225 About 7%
Any Hyper Rare (gold) About 1 in 51 About 27%
Any Ultra Rare (full art) About 1 in 16 About 65%

*Our calculation from TCGplayer’s per-pack rates, assuming every pack is independent. Pull rates are averages from a large sample, not guarantees for any single box.

Wondering how many packs come in a UPC in general? It depends on the box. The 151 UPC and the 2022 Sword & Shield Charizard UPC each have 16, the Mega Charizard X ex UPC has 18 from mixed sets, and the 30th Celebration UPC has 29 plus a Classic Collection pack.

4. When did the 151 UPC come out, and what was the MSRP?

Short answer: The 151 UPC launched on October 6, 2023, two weeks after the 151 expansion released on September 22, 2023. The US launch price was $119.99, as reported by PokéBeach when Pokémon revealed the promos.

Fact 151 UPC
Full name Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—151 Ultra-Premium Collection
Release date October 6, 2023 (151 expansion: September 22, 2023)
US MSRP $119.99
Barcode (UPC) 820650855412, as listed by retailers
Sealed case 4 boxes per case, per retailer listings
Regulation mark G, out of Standard since April 10, 2026

The cards in this box carry the G regulation mark. Under Pokémon’s 2026 rotation announcement, G cards stopped being legal in Standard on April 10, 2026 (March 26 on Pokémon TCG Live). The promos are still fine for Expanded and casual play, and rotation has little effect on sealed collectors.

5. Was the 151 UPC ever reprinted?

Short answer: No dedicated 151 UPC reprint has been announced. The box was widely available through late 2023 and into 2024. When Pokémon restocked popular sets in 2025, the 151 product reported for restock was the Zapdos ex Collection, not the UPC. As of October 2026, the Pokémon Center lists the UPC as out of stock.

151 UPC supply timeline
Period What happened
Oct 2023 Launch at $119.99. The box was easy to find at big retailers and local shops.
Early 2024 Plenty of stock, and many listings sold at or below MSRP.
Late 2024–2025 Retail stock dried up and secondary prices climbed well above MSRP.
2025 Restocks of popular sets reached some 151 products (such as the Zapdos ex Collection), but no UPC reprint was announced.
2026 Out of stock at the Pokémon Center; the 151 cards rotated out of Standard in April.

Pokémon doesn’t publish print-run numbers, so nobody outside the company knows exactly how many 151 UPCs exist. Watch Pokémon’s official channels for any future reprint news rather than marketplace rumors.

6. What is the 151 UPC worth now?

Short answer: As of October 2026, a sealed 151 UPC sells for roughly $750 to $900 based on TCGplayer market price data, several times its $119.99 MSRP. The price peaked higher in the past year and has eased in recent weeks. Check TCGplayer for today’s figure before you buy or sell.

The 151 UPC’s price history follows a common sealed-product pattern:

  • Launch to early 2024: plenty of stock kept prices near or below MSRP, and many collectors waited for discounts.
  • 2024 to 2025: as retail stock ran out, the price rose to several times MSRP. Demand for the original 151 Pokémon and the box-only promos drove it.
  • 2026: prices have swung up and down. The box is still far above MSRP but has pulled back from its highs.

Most of the sealed price is a premium for an unopened box. As of October 2026, 16 loose 151 packs plus the three promos bought as singles cost noticeably less than one sealed UPC. Our sealed Pokémon products guide explains how box-only promos, print runs and condition affect long-term value.

Prices in this section are a loose range from TCGplayer market data in October 2026. They are not a forecast, and past price moves don’t predict future ones.

7. Is the 151 UPC worth it? Keep it sealed or open it?

Short answer: It depends on what you want. If you want the 151 UPC as a collectible, keep it sealed, because opening it removes the premium. If you want the promos, buying them as singles costs far less. If you want to open 151 packs, Booster Bundles or loose packs are a cheaper way to do it.

151 UPC: sealed vs open vs singles
Choice Good for Trade-off
Keep it sealed Collectors who want the complete box Sealed prices can fall as well as rise, and the box needs careful storage
Open it Fans who want the full opening experience and the accessories You lose the sealed premium, and 16 packs rarely return the box price in pulls
Buy the promos as singles Collectors who mainly want Mew ex, Mewtwo or the metal card No packs or accessories, but much cheaper than a sealed box
Buy 151 packs or bundles Players who want to open 151 No UPC promos; buy from trusted sellers

8. How do you spot a resealed or fake 151 UPC?

Short answer: Check the shrink wrap, seams and seller before you pay. Factory wrap is usually soft and stretchy, with neat seams and no tape or glue. Be careful with prices well below market and with stock photos. Shrink quality on UPCs varies at the factory, so slightly loose wrap alone doesn’t prove a reseal.

Resealed 151 UPC checklist
Check Usually normal Red flag
Shrink wrap feel Soft, thin film that follows the box Hard, crackly or unusually thick plastic
Seams One neat factory seam A second seam, overlap, melted spots or tape under the film
Box print Sharp print that matches the official Pokémon images Blurry logos, wrong colors or misspelled text
Price and listing Close to market, with real photos of the actual box Far below market, stock photos only, payment off-platform
After opening 16 sealed 151 packs and all 3 promos Missing promos, re-crimped packs or packs from other sets

Photograph the box from every side before you open it, and film the opening if you paid a high price. That gives you evidence for a return or claim. For single cards, see our guide on how to spot fake Pokémon cards.

9. How should you store a sealed 151 UPC and its promos?

Short answer: Keep the sealed box somewhere cool, dry and dark, lying flat, with nothing heavy stacked on top. UPC boxes are larger than most display cases, so check measurements before buying a case for one. Sleeve the promos and keep the two paper promos in rigid or magnetic holders.

Storing the 151 UPC and its cards
Item Main risk What helps
Sealed 151 UPC box Sunlight fading, humidity, crushed corners A cool, dark, dry shelf or closet; store flat; avoid attics and basements
Mew ex and Mewtwo promos Scratches, edge wear, UV A penny sleeve, then a 35pt magnetic holder
Metal Mew ex Scratches and dents (it is thicker than a standard card) Keep it in its original insert or a holder made for thicker cards; it won’t fit a 35pt holder
Pulled cards and chase hits Edge wear and bending Sleeves for all hits; a binder or holders for the best cards

Our magnetic card holders are 35pt clear polypropylene with high UV protection, sized for standard cards like the two paper promos, and come with a 1-year guarantee. None of our acrylic display cases is sized for a UPC box, so for the box itself, follow the humidity and light advice in our guide to storing sealed booster boxes and ETBs. Standard card sleeves fit every card in the packs, and our Pokémon card storage guide covers binders and long-term storage.

10. Frequently Asked Questions About the 151 UPC

Q: What comes in the Pokémon 151 UPC?

A: Three promo cards (an etched foil Mew ex, a full-art foil Mewtwo and an etched metal Mew ex), 16 Scarlet & Violet—151 booster packs, a Mew playmat, a deck box, a metallic Mew coin, 6 damage-counter dice, 2 condition markers and a Pokémon TCG Live code card. Card sleeves are not included.

Q: How many packs are in a 151 UPC?

A: 16 booster packs, all from the Scarlet & Violet—151 expansion. Other Ultra-Premium Collections differ: the Mega Charizard X ex UPC has 18 packs from mixed sets, and the 30th Celebration UPC has 29 30th Celebration packs plus 1 Classic Collection pack.

Q: When did the 151 UPC come out, and what was the MSRP?

A: It launched on October 6, 2023, two weeks after the 151 expansion itself (September 22, 2023). The US launch price was $119.99.

Q: Was the 151 UPC ever reprinted?

A: Pokémon has not announced a dedicated reprint of the 151 UPC. Some other 151 products returned to shelves during the 2025 restocks, but as of October 2026 the Pokémon Center lists the UPC as out of stock, and most copies now sell on the secondary market.

Q: How much is the 151 UPC worth now?

A: As of October 2026, TCGplayer market data puts a sealed 151 UPC at roughly $750 to $900, several times its $119.99 MSRP. Prices move week to week, so check the current TCGplayer market price before buying or selling.

Q: Are the 151 UPC promo cards legal in Standard?

A: No. The 151 cards carry the G regulation mark, which left the Standard format on April 10, 2026 (March 26, 2026 on Pokémon TCG Live). They can still be played in Expanded and casual games.

Q: How many 151 UPCs are in a case?

A: Retailer listings for sealed 151 UPC cases show 4 boxes per case, or 64 booster packs in total.

The 151 UPC combines the original 151 Pokémon, two promos you can’t get anywhere else and a metal Mew ex, so it still stands out among modern sealed products. Decide whether you want it sealed, opened or as singles, then buy carefully and store it well.
